Multi-Skilled Engineer

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and diligent electrically biased Mult-Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering team. The purpose of this role is to support with and facilitate the planned, preventative and routine maintenance of a range of equipment and machinery on site to ensure the smooth running of our facility.

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • To ensure all machines and equipment are maintained to the optimum standards through adequate maintenance
  • Using fault finding techniques, react quickly to faults and breakdowns, communicating clearly with affected parties and working efficiently to fix the issue.
  • Minimise the likelihood of breakdowns by keeping equipment in a good state of repair and seeking continuous improvement opportunities by looking for ways to reduce the cost impact to the business as a result of downtime and ensuring a systematic planned maintenance programme is in place
  • Communicate with production teams to advance plan for downtime on machinery for service/modification or repairs that need carrying out
  • Maintaining a stock of critical spare parts as well as ordering parts for service and repair work
  • Ensuring work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Maintaining technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and benchmarking best-practice

 

Our perfect Multi-Skilled Engineer would have:

  • Proven experience of working as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in a similar manufacturing environment
  • An electrical apprenticeship served (City & Guilds), HNC, ONC, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition or similar
  • A strong electrical basis with mechanical skills
  • A strong awareness of and full commitment to the adherence of health and safety guidelines
  • A proactive approach with a focus on driving improvement
  • Excellent attention to detail; strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Effective communication skills; can engage with all levels of the business with a minimum of B2 in English
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks with the ability to reprioritise whilst continuing to manage expectations
  • PLC fault finding & diagnostics experience

 

The hours you would work:

A 4 on 4 off rotating shift comprising of 07:00-19:00 and 12:00-24:00. During peak periods, shifts may change to 09:00-21:00

An opportunity has arisen for capable individuals with an eye for detail to join our Maintenance team in the role of Engineering Storeman/Administrator. 

The purpose of this role is to provide full support to the Engineering department and Engineering Manager.

You will be responsible for managing the storage and distribution of engineering materials and equipment within our organization. Your role will involve maintaining accurate inventory records, overseeing stock levels, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support engineering operations. Additionally, you will handle administrative tasks related to procurement, documentation, downtime and coordination with various departments.

Responsibilities Include:

 

·         Performing goods receipt tasks, including booking in, checking quantities, labelling, and storing goods correctly.

·         Conducting accurate daily and weekly stock duties, including cycle counts, and place orders for materials and tools.

·         Following health and safety protocols and complete quality checks in line with procedures.

·         Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in all work areas.

·         All associated administration and documentation with a meticulous attention to detail.

 

Our perfect Engineering Storeman/Administrator would have/be:

To be considered for this role you will have:

 

Experience:  worked in a similar Storeman role, within manufacturing or engineering.

Knowledge of Engineering Materials: Basic understanding of engineering components and their applications.

Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain systematic storage and retrieval of materials.

Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in inventory records and documentation.

Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using inventory management software and MS Office suite.

Physically fit: With the ability to perform manual handling tasks

Safety Consciousness: Adherence to safety protocols in storage and handling of materials.

 

The hours you would work:

Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00 , 1 hour unpaid break

 

Rate of pay:

£28000-£30000 depending on experience
